Dear Members,
The Japan Society for Tourism and Hospitality Education (JSTHE) is pleased to announce the call for presentations for its 25th Annual Conference.
We are soliciting presentations in two categories: “Research Reports” for academic studies on tourism and hospitality education, and “Educational Practice Reports” for reports on practices in educational settings. Members wishing to present must carefully review the details below and the attached “JSTHE Annual Conference Call for Presentations (Form 1)” document, and submit their application by the deadline.
Please ensure you use the specified “JSTHE Annual Conference Guidelines for Writing Extended Abstracts (Form 2)” and the “Extended Abstract Template (Form 4)” when preparing your extended abstract.
1. Presentation Categories
Please select one of the two categories below:
- Research Report Deals with studies and surveys on tourism and hospitality education.
- Educational Practice Report Reports on educational practices at educational institutions related to tourism and hospitality education, and deals with the planning, implementation, results, and discussion of specific educational activities.
【Important: Request Regarding Presentation Suitability】
Please ensure that your application fully complies with the Society’s regulations. Non-compliant applications will not be accepted. Please note that the following cases are particularly subject to rejection:
・Presentations that are related to tourism/hospitality but are deemed not to be relevant to education.
・Presentations that are relevant to education but do not explain the relevance to tourism/hospitality.
2. Eligibility
- The presenter must be a regular or associate member of the JSTHE, or the first author must be a regular or associate member of the JSTHE.
- Non-members wishing to present as the first author must apply for membership to the Society Secretariat in time for the January Board of Directors meeting (application deadline is Monday, January 19, 2026).
- 【Special Provision for English Session】 To promote presentations in English, non-member graduate and undergraduate students will be allowed to present as first authors at the 25th Annual Conference only if they apply for an English presentation, submit an extended abstract in English, and present in English at the conference (A presentation fee of ¥1,000 is required). However, the presenter must obtain approval from their supervisor.
3. Schedule
- Presentation Application (Registration) Deadline: Tuesday, January 13, 2026
- Extended Abstract Submission Deadline: Monday, February 2, 2026
- Conference Dates: Saturday, March 7 to Sunday, March 8, 2026
- Research presentations are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, March 7, but may be held on Sunday, March 8, if there are a large number of applications.
4. Application Method
Please follow the procedures below:
- Entry (Presentation Application)
By Tuesday, January 13, 2026, please fill out the necessary information and submit it via the following Web form:- Application Form: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JSTHE2026
- Entry for presentations under group names will not be accepted.
- Extended Abstract Submission
By Monday, February 2, 2026, please email the abstract data (both Word and PDF format) , created using the attached “Extended Abstract Template (Form 4)” , to the secretariat at (jimu@jsthe.org).
